Viewpoint is simply the angle at which you take a photo in order to convey a certain feeling or emotion to the viewer of your photograph. Viewpoint, or the point of view of the person looking at your photo can broken up into two major categories, the worm’s eye view, and the bird’s eye view. The worm’s eye view is typically used to take a photograph from the ground level looking up at the subject of your photo, in order to make the subject of the photo seem very large important and dominant over the viewer of your photograph. Whereas a bird’s eye view is the direct opposite of the worm’s eye view in regards to taking photos because a bird captures a view by looking down from the sky, and a worm has a perspective from the ground. The bird’s eye view technique is used to make a subject appear less important to the viewer, therefore making them feel superior when looking at the photo. There are many other viewpoints that can be used when taking a photo, such as directly in front of the subject, to the left, to the right, and behind the subject. Each viewpoint is completely unique to the subject and is intended to make the viewer feel different emotions and impact then in different ways.
